History
Dr. Yan, an engineer and inventor, began developing the Ab Turn 360 in 2012. Hui had already engineered groundbreaking mobility products including the PumGo scooter, and the Dashbike, but his real passion was health and fitness. When he saw his daughter playing with a hula hoop, an idea was born. Hui’s vision: an exercise machine to revolutionize the way we perform core and cardio exercises.
Design
The Ab Turn 360 was inspired by a hula hoop, but turning a fun toy into a serious exercise machine took four years and lots of hard work. During this time there were many diffrent generations of Ab Turn 360 prototypes. The first prototypes were a closed ring with a massaging texture inside. After multiple trials, extensive research and study, the machine moved to an open ring concept. Finally, Ab Turn brought in top industrial designer Spencer Mackay to produce the final design.
